A panel discussion with artists Alice Sheppard Fidler and Rebecca Stapleford, and guests from the Nailsworth Brewery family, Nailsworth Archives and Three Storeys
19th September , 3pm – 4.30pm, The Setting Gallery at Three Storeys, GL6 0JE
There is a brief moment in time when a building, undergoing works, is truly raw. The process of deconstructing, though messy and chaotic, reveals shadows and imprints uncovering hidden stories.
Once the site of Nailsworth Brewery 1820, Comrades Social Club 1918 and now Three Storeys venue for creative working, the building holds a significant role in the area. This Panel discussion, as part of Heritage Open Days 2021, invites the audience to hear stories and ask questions of the building's history. The panel includes Mike Harvey (Nailsworth Archives), Nicki Schmiegelow (Three Storeys owner) & Oliver Clissold (Nailsworth Brewery Family), facilitated by artists Sheppard Fidler and Stapleford.
The talk is part of the public events programme which runs alongside the exhibition leave / stay / arrive, a site specific installation of sculpture, sound and video works of art, provoking discussion on the value of changing spaces and probes what constitutes historical merit.
Tickets for the open panel discussion can be booked here.
