Cost: £85 including tool set to take home **THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL**
This workshop is designed for adults, but is suitable for complete beginners; anyone who would like to give lino printing a go. Taking Christmas as a theme, we wil draw and then carve simple designs that can either be printed on card for place settings or gift tags, or on Christmas cards to give to loved ones. Included in the £85 workshop cost is your own set of lino printing tools which you can take away at the end of the day, to make further prints in your own time.
Susie Hetherington is a block printer, textile designer and graphic designer with a love for pattern and getting inky. Lino printing is a really effective way of making striking, original pieces of art, and Susie is passionate about sharing how fun and satisfying it can be, even when kept very simple. Come and give it a try and see if you get hooked!
Susie will provide some ideas and inspiration but also encourages you to bring pictures or ideas along to work from if you would like to. High contrast photos are good to work from; it is good to be able to easily simplify an image into light and dark. Don’t worry if you haven’t got any ideas in advance; Susie will bring lots of examples. Simplicity is often the most effective approach!
Places available are limited to allow for generous physical space between workshop attendees. All materials will be provided and do not need to be shared. The tool set is yours to take home, along with a step by step info sheet to keep, and anything you print on the day.
The Plot café is open from 10-3pm for drinks, cakes and pastries. Please feel free to bring packed lunch.
