Summer Lane Solitude by Wendy Rhodes

3 artists, 3 practices, 3 responses connecting nature and the human condition.

‘Made Visible’ is a shared exhibition that brings together Wendy’s local landscapes, Emily’s representations of our inner experiences and Sally’s autobiographical sculptures. The three artists work across a broad range of mediums; drawing, print, textiles and sculpture, exploring their ideas through the natural and the made environment. Their work embodies experiences that are impossible to articulate through language alone, whether that is a (mis-)understanding of rural inhabitation, alternative narratives that we use as communication devices or metaphors for stages of life, such as fertility, and loss.  In this exhibition our experiences are made visible through a visualisation of nature, amplified through the presence of un-natural structures and artefacts.
