An exhibition of new print based artwork from the Studio of Hayley & Marcus Walters

Project 8 is the culmination of many months of experimentation in the print studio of Hayley and Marcus Walters, working with different patterns, textures and materials.
Cut shapes, painterly brush strokes and patterns have been screen printed by hand onto textiles and wooden blocks to create vibrant, multi-layered compositions. The resulting artworks are exercises in colour and form; as much design as they are art.
“Our focus is to continually evolving our artwork and find a home for it whether its on a wall, sofa or object! The starting point for each collection is artwork made by hand...from drawing, collage or mark-making.
We use the print table in a disruptive and painterly way, cutting, cropping and layering our different artwork elements over each other to create results that are dynamic and unexpected. Each series of artworks is catalogued, then turned into a limited range of products from home wares to clothing that is then sold exclusively on our online store with an aim of being both sustainable and affordable.”
Hayley, a screen printer and Marcus, a graphic designer met in London over twenty years ago and share a studio since moving to Stroud, ten years ago. They decided to create In House as a means of pulling together their different artistic styles having previously worked together on projects for Heals, Tate and Habitat.
