Pages is a survey of recent work by Liz Collini ranging across her constant preoccupation with the idea of what makes a ‘text’, whether with language or without it. Screenprints, drawings and ink paintings explore the structure and materiality of texts with every surface seen as a form of page. Influences include classical inscriptions, illuminated manuscripts and plans. Language is constructed, dissolved and reorganised in different ways.
Liz graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2007 with an MA in Fine Art Printmaking, since when she has shown widely in the UK and abroad. A specially commissioned work is displayed in the V&A’s Prints and Drawings Study Room and in 2018 a drawing of constructed text was acquired by the British Museum.
Liz has a studio in London and is a member of the East London Printmakers collective.
Liz will be doing artist’s tours on Saturday 9th April at 2pm and Sunday 24th April at 11.30am.
