Watercolour Painting Workshop with Richard Callingham

Learn to paint a simple, but effective watercolour in this 2 hour workshop with local artist Richard Callingham, on Wednesday 13th September, 10am-12 midday at ‘The Setting’ gallery at Three Storeys, GL6 0JE.


Watercolour is the perfect medium to capture those spontaneous moments in your sketchbook. Richard can pass on helpful notes on colour-mixing, watercolour painting and perspective. Richard writes; ‘Having fun is the main ingredient to learning anything and there will be a lot of that in my class!’

What to bring - please bring your own paint box, brushes, pencils and paper if you have it, otherwise Richard will provide everything for you borrow - workshop cost £25 per head. 

This event is part of workshop week at the Coast exhibition at Three Storeys.

Richard Callingham is a Watercolour Artist and has been painting for over 40 years. He was inspired to paint in watercolours after having met and watched the great marine Artist Norman Wilkinson at work in the Isle of Wight in 1960. Painting out of doors is his great love, as being part of the landscape in all weathers is an unbeatable experience. Richard teaches painting in Watercolours in Thrupp, Near Stroud on Monday and Thursday mornings and also holds an online Zoom painting class every Tuesday morning.
