Inspired Cookery Book - an exhibition to celebrate this great charity project for Stroud Women’s Refuge
Wednesday 13th October - Saturday 13th November
Open Tuesday - Friday 9am - 3pm, Saturday 10 - 3pm
The Plot Café, Three Storeys, Old Bristol Rd, Nailsworth, GL6 0JE
During Lockdown 3, local gym owner Carl Benton put his spare time to good use creating a cookery book to help raise much needed funds for Stroud Women’s Refuge. Now available to buy here at Three Storeys, the Inspired cookbook is a wonderful collection of over 50 recipes from famous chefs and local restaurants, illustrated with work from local artists.
Alongside Tom Kerridge, Diana Henry, Thomasina Miers, the book features recipes from local favourites such as Jolly Nice, Wilder and the Bell at Selsley. All profits from the sale of the book will go to Stroud Women’s Refuge, who rely solely on the generosity of donors to offer accommodation and support services to women and their children who have been affected by domestic abuse.
We are delighted to be holding an exhibition in our café space of some of the work used in the book, and will be hosting a number of events to support the refuge. More details of artists exhibiting will follow soon, but in the meantime, if you would like to pick up a copy please do come by to the café and ask. £20 each with all profit going to the Stroud Womens Refuge.
"Carl Benton’s initiative in putting together a cookbook to raise money for Stroud Women’s Refuge is admirable in every way. It is a remarkable charity, and its resources are more needed than ever. It needs all our support. It has mine. Please help by buying this book. It’s not a lot to ask, but collectively you can give a great deal.”
